ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Water polo is a physical and challenging team sport, requiring constant contact with other players, and a strong ability to swim. It involves catching & throwing a ball, swimming many lengths of the pool, and treading water in a highly physical environment. Kennedy’s program aims to teach the entire sport to new players, so we do not require prior experience in water polo. However, there are minimum physical skills necessary in order to participate safely and productively. If a new player does not meet these standards, they will not be able to make a team, but we encourage them to work on those skills and try out again the following year. Players who make the program will be placed on the squad (JV or Varsity) that best suits their ability and would be most productive to their safety, success and growth.
