PROGRAM: The Swim and Dive program at Kennedy Catholic offers varsity and junior varsity level competition. Athletes who are not safe in deep water or on the diving board will be cut. A number of swim and dive meets occur off campus, but all practices are at the Foster High School pool. We compete in the North Puget Sound League (NPSL) at the 4A level.
TRYOUTS:
Swim and Dive is largely a no-cut sport, but the first 2 days of practice (8/24 & 8/25) will allow coaches to assess that an athlete:
1) does not monopolize the time of the a single coach
2) is water safe.
If these are not met, Coaches will speak with the athlete about the season Tuesday after practice.
Athletes will know if coaches have concerns by the end of practice, Tuesday.
Rosters will be announced Wednesday, 8/26, on Parent Square.
PRACTICE:
Foster Pool (Tukwila), Monday – Friday from 3pm to 5pm. This time slot is shared by Swim and Dive and Swim will likely have two (2) blocks of pool time to accommodate space and team size. Specific in-water time will be known by the end of the first week.
Athletes are welcome to ride the Eastside/Rainier bus to practice free of charge. There will not be a bus back to school after practice. Please arrange to pick your daughter up at Foster Pool.
COMPETITIONS:
Home meets will be at Foster Pool, WU at 2:30pm with meets starting at 3:00pm unless otherwise posted on a team calendar.

STAY IN THE LOOP:
Coach Veraya will be using Parent Square to communicate with the team. Instructions on how to join will be shared after the team is formed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
We are excited for another fun / fast Swim and Dive season. Athletes should come prepared to work and learn. Minimum of gear required day 1 are a swim suit and goggles, caps are preferable for longer hair. By Wednesday of first week some athletic shoes and gym clothes will be helpful for dryland work if athletes prefer not to be in a suit.
